Obama Rips Americans for Colonialism, and TV Host Trevor Noah Loves It

Barack Obama reminded Americans on Monday that the United States has "by no means" overcome the legacies of "slavery, Jim Crow, colonialism, and racism" during an interview with liberal pundit and South African citizen Trevor Noah.

"You know, my general theory is that, if I was clear in my own mind about who I was, comfortable in my own skin, and had clarity about the way in which race continues to be this powerful factor in so many elements of our lives," Obama said. "But that it is not the only factor in so many aspects of our lives, that we have, by no means overcome the legacies of slavery and Jim Crow and colonialism and racism, but that the progress we've made has been real and extraordinary, if I'm communicating my genuine belief that those who are not subject to racism can sometimes have blind spots or lack of appreciation of what it feels to be on the receiving end of that, but that doesn't mean that they're not open to learning and caring about equality and justice and that I can win them over because there is goodness in the majority of people."

Obama routinely scrutinizes Americans and their way of life.  In September, Obama said to a group of young Asian students in Laos that when Americans hit tough economic times, they usually turn to racism for relief and that they are also lazy when it comes to learning about other cultures.

And Noah isn't a big fan America's colonialistic ways either.

Did the South African host fail to realize that at one point this year Obama was bombing six different sovereign countries?  Obama's targets include Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Yemen, and Afghanistan.  In 2015, Obama dropped 23,144 bombs on African and Middle Eastern countries.  Is this progressivism?

The left is constantly confusing the hard working people of America with condemnations of their origins and justifying expansive foreign wars with unlimited price tags.  When Obama says that the United States has not overcome its legacy of colonialism, maybe he should take a step back and ask himself, what is colonialism?
