Big Time Cruz Donors Are Jumping Ship, "Profoundly Disappointed"

Ted Cruz's life-long career as a politician may be in jeopardy.  After his stunt at last week's Republican convention, a mutiny has erupted among key supporters and donors of the once famed Texas senator.

According to a statement released by businessman and key Cruz donor Robert Mercer, Cruz's speech was profoundly disappointing.  He also ripped Cruz and called his speech "both regrettable and revealing."

Last summer and again this year, Sen. Ted Cruz pledged to support the candidacy of the nominee of the Republican Party, whomever that nominee might be. We are profoundly disappointed that on Wednesday night he chose to disregard this pledge.

Robert and his daughter Rebekah Mercer donated over $11 million to Cruz-affiliated super PACs supporting his presidential campaign.
