Re: Wisconsin Doesn't Need This Brew

Jillian, this entire ad campaign--complete with its own clever website--is a stroke of genius for a number of reasons.

(1) It's memorable, and the message is very clear: Democrat Tom Barrett is responsible for more taxes and less jobs.  (It should be "fewer jobs," but I'm a geek like that).

(2) It doesn't look or feel like a bland, run-of-the-mill political spot, which many voters simply tune out.

(3) It's actually pretty funny.  Many political ads attempt humor and fail; these ones hit the mark.

(4) It's a political parody of the well-known Miller Lite ad campaign in which beer drinkers argue over whether the product is better because of its "great taste" or because it's "less filling."  This tongue-in-cheek homage will not be lost on Wisconsinites, who tend to drink quite a bit of beer--much of it from Milwaukee-based Miller.  (I'm partial to Leinenkugel myself).

Plus, it's chock full of Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers gear.  In other words, it's an ad perfectly tailored to the state.  Great work, RGA.
