The Manson Family Enrolls at Georgia State

Every year or so I teach a course called “Trials of the Century.” The class examines famous American trials from various standpoints – legal, cultural, and otherwise. Students enjoy most of the cases I cover but none so much as the Charles Manson case, which was tried in the early 1970s. One of the reasons they find the case so intriguing is that it reveals much more about Charles Manson than they ever knew. While they always knew he was a nut, not all students realized just how much of a racist Manson was.

But the members of the Manson family all knew “Charlie” was both a nut and a racist. That is why Manson talked incessantly about how the Beatles were sending messages to him, saying that he ought to start a race war. Manson was so crazy and race-possessed that he believed the Beatles White album was dedicated to white supremacy. He even believed that the term “Helter Skelter” meant “Negro revolt” and that the song “Revolution” was calling for an all-out race war.

Of course, Manson was a coward. Like Hitler, he programmed others through repetition so they would not think critically, but instead follow his orders and kill for him without even really thinking. Those who are old enough to have followed the trial remember the bizarre scene that occurred in court the day after President Nixon said he thought Manson was guilty. With shaved heads and swastikas carved into their foreheads they stood up in court and repeatedly chanted:

“IF THE PRESIDENT SAYS WE’RE GUILTY, THEN WHY GO ON WITH THE TRIAL?”

The image of these young racists who were so brainwashed they could not even think coherently was disturbing to everyone present in the courtroom. Indeed, they seemed to have no other purpose in life than to defend mass killing motivated by deep-seated anti-black racism. I had never seen anything match it until I discovered this recent video taken by my good friends at Campus Reform, (see www.CampusReform.org).

In the video, a young black man is poised to speak out against the mass killing of blacks in the name of “choice.” He wants to tell people about the racist origins of Planned Parenthood. He also wants to explain that most black pregnancies now end in abortion. But then his forum is taken from him by a bunch of mostly white abortionists chanting in unison and holding up signs to block his Power Point presentation.

Watching that video is tough. It is also tough to avoid wondering whether some of those kids are the illegitimate love children of Charles Manson himself. I know that sounds harsh but think about it for a minute as you review the tape. It isn’t pretty.

While defending the black genocide, a young white woman – apparently the group leader -makes a reference to pregnant black women. She uses these words: “The life of the child that she carries in her womb.” Shortly after she lets that one slip out – admitting that the unborn are “children” – the young black man asks how many abortions she would be willing to tolerate in the black community. The group responds by chanting:

“GEORGIA STATE STUDENTS TRUST BLACK WOMEN”

“GEORGIA STATE STUDENTS TRUST BLACK WOMEN”

After the students stop chanting, the leader of the group tries to explain why they are there. She admits they are trying to take over the forum and says it is because they are “here to stop a racist, sexist …” But before she finishes the sentence she realizes her error in claiming the group wants to stop racism by interrupting a forum decrying racism. So the chanting resumes:

After the group has finished chanting, their leader tries to explain that “A woman has an abortion to be a better mother.” She actually says that. I would have responded by asking whether a man should kill his wife to be a better husband. But, instead, the young black man (whose civil rights are being trampled by a bunch of chanting white people) quotes a statistic on black illegitimacy rates. His point is obvious: Black women do not have all of these abortions simply because they are not yet ready to become mothers. The group is perplexed so they resume the chant:

“GEORGIA STATE STUDENTS TRUST BLACK WOMEN”

“GEORGIA STATE STUDENTS TRUST BLACK WOMEN”

At this point, the Georgia State students demonstrate that they really don’t trust black women. Complete mayhem breaks out. The students start holding signs over the screen where the young black man planned to project his presentation. But his Planned Presentation was aborted.

The president of the group stands in the front of the room in the area where the scheduled speaker is supposed to be addressing the audience. He is forced to sit in the back of the bus while the young abortionists ignore a black woman who is pleading with them to let the speech begin.

She reminds the chanting abortionists that she is a black woman and that Georgia State is supposed to be an institution of higher learning. But the chanting Georgia State students don’t trust that black woman. Again, the chanting abortionists are asked to allow the presentation to begin. They are also cordially invited to participate in the Q & A that will follow the speech. They do not accept the offer. Instead, they leave the room chanting:

Maybe these kids have been spending too much time listening to the Beatles White album. Or maybe they have just been listening to Neal Boortz. Either way, they only succeeded in showing that history seems to repeat itself. Mass killers are always spineless cowards who lack the courage to defend their convictions.
