Speaker Johnson's Leftist Bailout

I'm sure you've heard the news: House Democrats will ensure Mr. Mike Johnson remains Speaker of the House. That gavel isn't leaving his hands. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was prepping a motion to vacate, but even Republicans think that window has closed, as everyone on the Hill is shying away from antics that could create a circus.

It's not shocking this happened. Was Johnson going to be a better speaker than McCarthy? No, and it certainly didn't warrant McCarthy's ouster if this was the endgame. You knew trouble was brewing when, after the California Republican was kicked out of the speaker's office, there was no one to replace him. Arguably, Johnson has done a much worse job. McCarthy, for all his faults, could raise money, and his efforts behind the scenes are what clinched us a small House majority in a midterm year where the party underperformed miserably.

Plenty of criticism can be hurled at McCarthy, but Johnson bent over on most spending bills, Ukraine aid, and warrantless FISA spying reauthorization, which as you'll recall was used to illegally spy on the 2016 Trump campaign and orchestrate the Russian Collusion Hoax.

Is this a Democrat majority House? Because this "Republican" seems content with giving Joe Biden an endless number of much-needed legislative wins. He also bungled the impeachment of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, but we can go on for days.

In many ways, Mr. Johnson earned MTG's motion to vacate, but that bid is over. He got bailed out by Democrats, a luxury we here at Townhall do not have.

On second thought, that's not fair. Let me rephrase that last part: our VIP members bail us out every single day, ensuring that quality reporting can break through the Big Tech and government censorship web. It's VIP members' direct support that keeps our conservative reporting coming, Kurt Schlichter's weekly VIP columns and his "Stream of Kurtiousness" flowing, exclusive op-eds from Katie Pavlich and Spencer Brown and a lot more. VIP members also help keep investigative reporter Mia Cathell on target in her hunt, sniffing out the aberrant and felonious activities within the woke community. Supporting VIP means allowing us to keep the lights on to expose Biden's failing domestic agenda, his chaotic and dangerous foreign policy, and the left's lurch into terrorism.

MIKE JOHNSON

So, yes, I stand corrected. Unlike Mike Johnson, we at Townhall do get bailed out, but it's by real conservatives, not Democrats.
