There are as many different opinions about it as there are people you ask. I’m not well versed in the rules that govern the Democrat party nominating process. But let’s face it Democrats barely believe that actual laws matter—so what’s the big deal with bending some convention rules?
Or just breaking them all together?
But this week, what appears to these eyes and mind as the opening salvos to “rearrange” Democrats prospects for the election of 2024 may have been fired. So curious observers want to know—is it happening? Are the Democrats going to have run the table on the nominating process only to now pull a fast one on their own voters.
It might well be happening.
If you look at the poll numbers everywhere—Biden/Harris is underwater badly to Trump in every swing state. In a general election match up that features the remaining independent candidates like Kennedy, West, and Stein Trump wins by 6-12 points in many/most of those races. That’s a gap too big to make up with a “suitcase margin” at 3am on election night.
Democrats know that that “Slow Joe” isn’t getting any younger or faster. They know he’s botched the border. Ticked off Moms with gender theory in public schools. And his answer to inflation—instead of drilling for energy and immediately lowering prices everywhere—has been to bark at food companies about the amount of potato chips in his snack pack.
But Democrats find themselves facing even bigger problems. If you just had an incompetent empty suit to run that would be bad enough. But now they are shedding core constituency groups. Trump is winning the young voter demographic, activating suburban moms, getting eye-popping percentages of Hispanic support and is polling at 28% amongst the most incalcitrant African American vote.

Add to the nincompoop-in-chief and the defecting voting blocks a Vice Presidential nominee that is less liked than the top person and she happens to be a suburban mom with some claim to African American status. In other words she’s intersectional enough where she should help the ticket with those problem voters but she’s been such a buffoon in office that she would cause those voting blocks to defect in higher ratios to the other side.
As Marc Lotter of America First Policy Institute pointed out on my television show this weekend, “You can’t replace Biden without offering it to Kamala, otherwise you have a more depressed turnout.” But as Mike Gallagher of talk radio and Salem News Channel fame points out, “there’s no way the Democrats can offer Biden as the nominee and hope to win.”
So—as Eric Metaxas’ producer Chris Himes has so dubbed me—let me don my Votestradamous hat and relay what I saw this week.
VP Harris is sent to Minnesota to hold a historic press conference at an abortion mill operated by Planned Parenthood. A voting issue that has been decided judicially and in a state where abortions are still occurring. Biden/Harris have a far bigger problem with disaffected middle eastern immigrant Muslim communities in Minnesota and Michigan so this little fool’s errand looks as effective as her being in charge of the border. Because that worked so well…
Then Friday night into Saturday a story repeatedly drops about Harris’ (step) daughter raising money for the terrorists in Gaza. She is doing so through an organization that the USA had to disavow at the United Nations—so kind of a big deal. The story obviously makes Harris look sympathetic to terrorists and further muddies the issues of our foreign policy (where she has looked like nothing but a deer in headlights.) Then Saturday night into Sunday an op-ed drops from the Washington Post for Kamala to formally step aside from the future Biden ticket aspirations.
Viola! If she’s ineffective, tacitly approving of conspiring with enemies, and disappointing in her role all that’s left is for there to be an industry of rumor that bubbles louder and louder until someone (whoever’s in charge) sits her down and says “for the good of the party-cackles-step aside.”
Once she has been properly demoralized—which is no small feat for a woman with the size of the ego as she has—then they can slide a replacement on to the ticket that would be the Democrat party’s preferred next President.
Conventions be damned, rules be damned, laws scoffed at and voters ignored.
This is about holding on to power at all costs, and making sure that every cog in the machine stays in line and plays their part.
But you can’t eventually get rid of the big guy until you’ve addressed the disaster that is his replacement. And you can’t do that without further angering constituents you already have problems with. And you can’t under ANY circumstance possibly allow Trump to come back to office.
So your plan starts with embarrassing, demoralizing and getting herself to believe that Kamala Harris has to go.
At least that’s what it looks like is starting to occur from where I sit.
