I agree with your macro view, but individual hard work that produces income without debt i.e., credit cards, loan etc. does not result in positive credit scores. This is the reality of the individual. I cannot payoff a revolving credit balance (Sears is an example), but instead I must cancel the card to owe no interest or fees (minimum service charge). Credit Bureaus (CB) charge to view reports (one free per year), which is not personal due diligence. The consumer is guilty until proven innocent which results in economic persecution. Trying to change an entry has sprouted a whole industry of sleazy businesses. The consumer is being herded into a non self-sustaining model that is doomed to failure. The problem is there are...

I can assure you that the boomer generation could thoroughly care less about any one other than themselves. We allow the Federal Reserve to print money (or just create it with the stroke of a computer key) at will, their actions answerable to no one.

I submit that no person or group of people has the moral fortitude to be given the power to create money at will, and not abuse the power.

The answer? A free market in money, which naturally would move towards gold and silver coins as the best possible media of exchange.

You don't have to trust a government official not to create more silver and gold. They can't. The only way anyone can create silver...

Obama thus far about 15%? To me, it's too soon to argue debt for Obama. First years are not the time to argue such data. I can see a point of addressing spending and taxes. But the overall national debt of the first year is not going to make of breakb a nation like the USA. Furthermore, the debt this article is deriding, has everything to do with Reagan, Bush I and Bush II.

You will get no argument from me about the quality of the political class in this country. IMHO, the electorate tends to get the group of politicians that it deserves.

As Mr. Connor points out, we the people are also complicit in setting the tone of rampant consumption and overspending in our society.

As for me, I'm preparing for the end of the party. The dollar will lose its position and resources will not continue to flow into America as they had done in the past. It's time to hone primitive skills and prepare for the inevitable unrest when the bill comes due.

While the politicians and the MSM keep us all up in arms and debating the pros and cons of health care, global warming,etc., it keeps us distracted from matters of much greater importance such as Islamic Terrorism and the Real Threats Looming over Our Heads.

When a generality goes against what one believes then we invalidate it by invalidating all generalities. When the generality fits with what we believe then generalities become once again valid: "Today the "liberals" (tyrants) have made everything political"
