Seminary luncheons slated for June 15

PHOENIX (BP)--The six Southern Baptist seminaries will hold their annual alumni luncheons on Wednesday June 15 during the SBC annual meeting. Following are the details of each luncheon:

GOLDEN GATE SEMINARY -- Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary's president, Jeff Iorg, will be the featured speaker at the seminary's Alumni and Friends Luncheon June 15 at 12:15 p.m. at the Phoenix Convention Center North Building, Rooms 227 A/B/C on Level 200. Iorg will report on the seminary's activities over the past year and discuss new initiatives for the coming year. In addition, Golden Gate's distinguished alumni award will be presented. Tickets, at $10 per person, are available by calling 1-888-442-8709 or emailing rsvp@ggbts.edu. Tickets also can be purchased at Golden Gate's exhibit hall booth at the SBC annual meeting.

MIDWESTERN SEMINARY -- Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary will host its annual Alumni & Friends Luncheon June 15, at noon in the Phoenix Convention Center's North Building, Rooms 124 A & B, Street Level. Seminary President R. Philip Roberts will provide an update on the new chapel progress, upcoming library renovations and other campus activities. To purchase a $15 meal ticket, contact Midwestern's Institutional Advancement office at 816-414-3720 or email IAoffice@mbts.edu, and include complete names of all attendees and your cell phone and email address. Reservations are due before Thursday, June 9. Reserved tickets can be picked up and paid for at Midwestern's exhibit hall booth on Monday or Tuesday during the annual meeting.

NEW ORLEANS SEMINARY -- New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary office of Alumni Relations will host a reunion luncheon for alumni and friends June 15. The luncheon will follow the morning session and will be served in the Phoenix Convention Center's North Ballroom (Room 120A, North Building). In addition to connecting with friends and former classmates, seminary President Chuck Kelley will update attendees on the previous year's developments and activities at NOBTS. The distinguished alumni for 2011 will be named and an alumni treasurer will be elected. Tickets are $20 per person if purchased by May 31, $25 afterward. To purchase a ticket before the convention, send a check payable to NOBTS to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Attention Alumni Relations, 3939 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70126 or purchase online at www.nobts.edu. All luncheon tickets may be picked up at the seminary's booth in the Phoenix Convention Center's exhibit hall. Tickets can be purchased during the convention at the NOBTS exhibit.

SOUTHEASTERN SEMINARY -- Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary will host its annual Alumni and Friends Luncheon June 15. From noon to 2 p.m., the Southeastern family will gather for lunch and to hear from alumnus Nathan Knight, pastor of Restoration Church in Washington, D.C., about the importance of theological education in the life of a church planter. President Danny Akin will also speak on the state of the seminary. The luncheon will be held in rooms 129A and 129B in the North Building of the Phoenix Convention Center. Cost is $25 per person. SOUTHERN SEMINARY -- Southern Baptist Theological Seminary's luncheon for alumni and friends will be at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2011, in the Phoenix Convention Center's North Building, Room 120D, Level 100. Seminary President R. Albert Mohler Jr. will present a ministry update on behalf of the seminary. SOUTHWESTERN SEMINARY -- Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary's National Alumni Luncheon will begin at noon, June 15, in the Phoenix Convention Center's North Ballroom, Room 120 on Level 100. President Paige Patterson will present the seminary's annual report and the 2011 distinguished alumnus award. Tickets, at $20 per person, may be purchased online at www.swbts.edu/sbclunch or by calling 1-877-GO SWBTS (467-9287). Tickets will also be available during the SBC annual meeting at Southwestern's exhibit hall booth.
