Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Republicans don't need to dress up for Halloween this year. They're scaring the pants off Barack Obama's followers by their mere presence. Anything they say, wear or do provokes instant cries of "RAAAAACISM!" Wink, blink or think critical thoughts about Obama? You're a bigot!

How many racial bogeymen have Obama operatives and sympathetic journalists discovered lurking in "coded language" and attire? Let us count the ways:

-- During Tuesday's presidential debate, John McCain referred to Obama as "that one." Official Obama press agitator Bill Burton sent off an e-mail blast to reporters: "Did John McCain just refer to Obama as 'that one'?" Horrors.

Taking their cue from Burton, spooked Obama supporters hyperventilated like teenagers on the film set of "The Blair Witch Project." "The racial undertones were subtle but unmistakable," declared Maya Wiley of the leftist Center for Social Inclusion. "McCain was tapping into a current of superiority among white voters. It was an attempt to 'otherize' Obama."

"Otherize"? Sounds like something you do to your car tires to prepare for winter.

UC Berkeley linguistics professor George Lakoff was also haunted by "That One": "The phrase was meant to say, 'You and I are in the same area, but he's the outsider.'"

Memo to McCain: Next time, call him "The One."

-- Obama supporters on the heavily trafficked Democratic Underground website (where such mainstream Democrats as Elizabeth Edwards hang out) saw the ghost of the Ku Klux Klan in Sarah Palin's white suit jacket. Yes, white clothes equal racism.

"Palin is wearing white again, inciting the racist crowds. She should just drop all pretense and put on her white hood and light up a cross. She is a despicable human being," fumed a DU poster. "Grand Princess of the KKK," proclaimed another. They're "trying to send subtle signals to their rabid base," declared yet another member of Obama's rabid base.

My racial decoder ring must be on the fritz. I'm not getting the signal. If she wears white stockings, drinks a vanilla milkshake and refers to budgetary black holes, are those incitements, too? And what about her gorgeous white teeth? Perhaps she should drink more coffee -- hold the white cream! -- to avoid emitting further racial radiation.

-- Such paranoia is not limited to the fever swamps of the Internet. Earlier this week, the Associated Press disseminated an "analysis" accusing Palin of injecting a "racial tinge" into the campaign because she criticized Obama for his longtime relationship with Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers. Palin's comments were completely unobjectionable: "This is not a man who sees America like you and I see America."

I saw a vice presidential candidate drawing stark philosophical differences between two tickets. The AP saw Freddy Krueger with lipstick and a noose.

"Whether intended or not by the McCain campaign, portraying Obama as 'not like us' is another potential appeal to racism. It suggests that the Hawaiian-born Christian is, at heart, un-American," the AP piece frothed.

Obama is half-black. Ayers is white. One of the Weather Underground's victims was black police officer Waverly Brown of Nyack, N.Y. Where do I buy a pair of the super X-ray glasses that can detect the racism in Palin's remarks about the Obama-Ayers alliance?

-- I'll have to borrow those hysterical-colored spectacles from Time's Karen Tumulty, who spotted racist goblins in the recent McCain ad criticizing Obama for seeking advice from Fannie Mae corruptocrat Franklin Raines. "Sinister images of two black men, followed by one of a vulnerable-looking elderly white woman," Tumulty balked in a blog post titled "McCain plays the race card."

Um, "sinister"? The ad's photos of Obama and Raines were standard shots -- some with dour expressions, others smiling. The fact that Tumulty perceived them as "sinister" suggests that she should perform a self-racism exam before diagnosing anyone else.

-- A parade of congressional witch hunters for Obama also detects the specter of George Wallace behind every policy bush. Democratic New York Gov. David Paterson says conservative criticism of Obama's community organizing days is code for "black." Democratic Rep. Gregory Meeks complained to the New York Observer: "They are trying to throw out these codes." In the same piece, Democratic Rep. Yvette Clark divined segregationist intent in Palin's references to Joe Six-Pack and hockey moms. "It leaves a lot of people out."

And Democratic Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid echoed Time's Tumulty on the McCain camp's Obama/Raines broadsides: "The only connection that people could bring up about Raines and Barack Obama is that they both are African-American, other than that there is nothing."

The Washington Post reported that Obama's office phoned Raines for housing advice and has stood by its reporting. Is the newspaper part of the McCain/Palin hooded racists' coven, too?

Obama's witch hunters better beware. When there's racism in every hiccup, nobody's air supply is safe.

Uh oh
Malkin will probably get flak for using the term "spooked."

All this racial fear-mongering - coming from only one side - could easily create a huge backlash against the Obama campaign. Whites are absolutely fed up with being made to walk on eggshells whenever they deal with other ethnic groups. We just want to deal with people as people, not racial categories, and without fear of being labeled racist for wearing white clothes(!).

Beyond parody
The leftists continue to prove that they are literally beyond parody. Otherize? Wearing white is racist? Apparently, campaign ads with whites are racist. Campaign ads with blacks are racist. Campaign ads with whites and blacks together are racist. (We didn't hear so much as a whisper from the left when Ray Nagin declared that NOLA would remain a "chocolate city.") If SNL had tried to portray such nonsense in a skit just one year ago, it would have been considered way too over the top and detached from reality to be amusing. Now, SNL refuses to take what would be easy shots at these people because SNL desperately wants Obama to win and it will not go anywhere near anything that will remotely hit a real nerve. All the biting satire has to be against McCain, while they make mild fun of peripheral targets in the general vicinity of the Obama campaign.

BTW, I lost my White Male Oppressor Decoder Ring. Would someone please bring an extra one for me to the next meeting of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy? Thanks in advance.

Racism?
Every time that Barry O gets worried about something the cry goes out "racism, racism".

The libs are grasping at straws again.

NeroDavota
Palin's witch doctor? I've seen the video, read about the circumstances and what you said is simply offensive. Today's left, or who ever these Obama defenders are, are the scariest bunch I've ever seen. They would storm right over Atticus Finch and Scout, too. There is no decency to appeal to.

Racism is rampant
in the Democratic Party... especially among the black community. As a matter of fact, the only racists I have come across in the last few years have been blacks who have imbibed at the well of Jackson, Sharpton, and Bond.

On the Left side of the aisle the real issue is fear. They are not really afraid, of course, but claim that the looks, attitudes, and subliminal messages of the Republican hoards are scary. The masses of idiots in colleges and poor neighborhoods are ready fodder for their fear - mongering "voter drives", and the press and the main media are sucking on the teat of the DNC.

Yes, racism is an issue, and it should be spoken of clearly. Obama is a racist. Jessie Jackson is a racist. Al Sharpton is a racist. Julian Bond is a racist. Farrakhan, who recently announced that Obama is the Messiah, is not just a racist, but he wants to destroy the white race (which would make him a genocidist?), and Obama is his friend and ally.

Cut off debate...
I see that the primary purpose of all this call for racism is to shut off any debate. By claiming any discussion of Obama and Raines relationship is racist means we cannot raise any issue of their connection. That way no questions need to be answered.

Racists???
The only racists I can see all belong to
the Klu Klux Tan.

Me? I'm just an uppity redneck who doesn't know his place. I yawn when I hear the mobs shout "OBAMAHU AKBAR!"

racism
They will play this card until it's DEAD.. And, people are FED UP..

Seinfield let loose
Crazy Joe Davola. Hey guy, quit clowning around. There's windmills in abundance for you to chase at Kos.

Hockey Moms
Oh yeah, I'm just soooo offended that Sarah would use the term "hockey moms." I've got to say that as someone who has always lived in the southeast, I've never known anyone who plays hockey. Football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, golf - yes, but no hockey. She just wasn't thinking when she dissed all of us southerners.

Get a grip Yvette!

Keep Fighting
My Dad was a passenger conductor on the Pennylvania Railroad, and his train was the Congresional Limited to Washington. On the election night of the Truman-Dewey election, I Dad brought home a late copy of a Washington newspaper with a large black headline -- DEWEY ELECTED. By morning's light, the headlines were very different. I wish I had kept a copy of that newspaper -- imagine what it would bring on E-Bay!

Happy Halloween!
I can't STAND Barack Obama, or his wife, or his friends, or his drooling, slavish followers. I consider that empty suit to be the worst candidate for president we have EVER considered and if the awful day comes that he is actually elected, he will do more damage than Carter did (imagine that, if you can!). Where the Obummer maniacs see the Messiah (I just threw up a little in my mouth)- I see the decline of America. Try to imagine Bill Ayers as Sec of Educ. After all, isn't THAT his schtick now? Destroying our kids?
Obama is a liar and a Marxist.

BOO!

Politically Correct
LOL! Don't you love it. Anything Republicans say is racist, but everything Demonrats say is Gospel. We are where we are, in the Congress the Senate and in this presidential race because of all the political correctness practiced by the agreeable Rinos trying to placate everyone. If someone is of color, they cannot be critcized - unless they are Republican. Being poltically correct only gets it shoved down your throat harder. They've all sure turned on Mr. Reach Across the Aisle. Remember Osamabama's "typical white grandmother," of course that wasn't racist, because he said it.

And this attributed to students at Texas A&M: "Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional illogical liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous liberal press which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

I'd say this is proving to be true.

Demonrats - Still the Home of Racism
Funny they should detect the "specter of George Wallace"...he was a democrat.

The democrat party is the party of Jim Crow laws, segregation, George Wallace standing in the school house door, klan recruiter Robert KKK Bird, etc, etc.

They did everything they could to kill the civil rights act of 1957 (proposed by republican Eisenhower and passed with republican votes) and the civil rights act of 1964 (also pushed through largely with republican votes).

And I'm gettng really tired of that bunch of demonrat crackers yelling racism everytime they want to divert attention or get their own way.

Who is the racist?
If we examine the issues, we find that the ones who are keeping minorities from improving their opportunities are the Dems. There is no greater government sactioned violation of civil rights than denial of parental choice in education. John McCain is calling for school choice as a civil right, while Barack Obama is opposed. Simply stated, Obama favors slavery of the mind, while McCain seeks emancipation.

Obama Figured This Out Long Ago
I am convinced Barack Obama figured out how to use the white guilt of the Left to launch his political career. He can do no wrong with the Left. He could come out and denounce his country and they would still vote for him. Oh, wait - that already happened.

Geraldine Ferraro called it correctly by stating the obvious: People are voting for Obama because of the his skin color. That's it. Nothing else matters.

Gonna fix that!
Isn't freedom of speech and expression just great in this Country? Well, we're gonna fix that even better When Obamessiah is voted in, he and the other left wingers will see to it that only state approved speech and expressions may be used by the proletariat anywhere in this Country. Oops, forgot, may as well control the thought process too. That ought to take those pesky arrogant caucasians and white trash Conservatives and Republicans down a peg or two. They've been getting away with way too much, for way too long. Yep, gonna fix that.

The Audacity knows no bounds
Okay, so he wants to rise up through the ranks and get his street cred in Chicago. Sounds almost plausible. He thinks, hmmm, perhaps a racist church will help. Enter Jeremiah Wright and the Church of Hateapalooza. But do you really have to spend 20 years with Unky Wright to get ahead? I mean really, if you were only using Reverend Racist, wouldn't you get sick of him after you succeeded. But 20 years? C'mon. Perhaps Reverend Racist wasn't the only racist in the church at any given time over the 20 years. Maybe the anti-American venom he was spewing was acceptable or appreciated by the Obama clan.

Democrats are insane
Everyone has a breaking point where they finally say they have had enough of the bigots playing the ubiquitous race card anytime someone has the audacity to disagree with them. I have reached my saturation point of the race card over 20 years ago, what is taking the rest of you so long to get fed up with it?

They should change the Constitution where everyone must wear all black, only drink chocolate milk, quickly polute all of the snow after it falls so it will be black, pass your 401k plans to Phleger, forfeit all jobs to blacks until they have 100% employment, and only vote for black candidates. Also, everyone needs to live in the dark.
