What was the biggest suprise of Election Day?

It is ironic to the point of absurdity that leftists could ever complain about conservatives threatening their liberties. Now back in power, they're in a full sprint to grab power and reduce our liberties.

Of course, we always knew the left's spurious charges against President Bush were not just rank partisanship but also classic projection -- accusing him of precisely the type of tactics they would employ if they were in power. And now they are -- big-time.

Let's consider just a few examples.

Former New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey, at the personal expense of incurring the fury of such liberal mouth foamers as MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, has helped expose hidden health care provisions in President Obama's stimulus nightmare that "will affect 'every individual in the United States.'"

The bill creates a new bureaucracy, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, which "will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective." Note: not what your doctor deems appropriate, but what the federal government does. Doctors and hospitals will face penalties if they fail to kowtow to this fiat requiring uniformity. This new bureaucracy will receive greater funding than "the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force combined."

Worse, the bill will result in the rationing of care for the elderly. But that's OK because Big Brother has determined that individuals will benefit in their younger years and will have to sacrifice later. I'm not making this up. This is one of the rationales defenders of these innovations are serving up.

Much of the impetus for these health care changes came from disgraced former Sen. Tom Daschle, who would be head of Health and Human Services right now but for his little tax issue. McCaughey shares revealing gems from Daschle's 2008 book, "Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis." Among them are his opinions that doctors must give up autonomy and "learn to operate less like solo practitioners" and that seniors will have to learn to deal with -- rather than receive treatment for -- conditions that arise from their age.

Perhaps the most chilling aspect of this particularly noxious stealth provision of the stimulus scheme is not what's in it, but how it -- and other such free market-destroying provisions -- were rushed through under deliberate cover of darkness. McCaughey attributes this strategy to Daschle, as well.

A year ago, McCaughey tells us, Daschle warned that the next president should not make the same mistake the Clintons made with Hillary Care, which was to allow debate. Daschle wrote: "If that means attaching a health-care plan to the federal budget, so be it. The issue is too important to be stalled by Senate protocol."

So much for "liberal" democracy. So much for transparency. So much for a new era of hope and change. Continued...

Ignorant people should read
Start with your insurance policy. I'm a 34 year old mother of two who, out of the blue, had a disc rupture. My job sent forms to my insurance saying they didn't do it. (They didn't, but why was that necessary? It was an emergency). I got a letter from United Healthcare demanding I sign over my rights so they wouldn't pay. I refused. They threatened to not cover me, but because they hadn't a leg to stand on, they covered the claim, then raised my rates so high my employer was kicked off the plan! So, it's not the government between you and a doctor, it's the guy in the cubicle working for the HMO (or PPO, as mine was) that is between you and your doctor. They didn't want to give me an MRI while I lay there sure I had a brain tumor. They let me think I was dying for two hours until I demanded an MRI. Then the disc showed up. You all who think you can get by without coverage, are kidding yourselves. My "bill" would have been about $750,000 for my care. Out of pocket. Could you have paid that? What if my husband had gotten ill later that year? I have had pre-cancer and if I don't get some coverage, I may orphan two all-american boys. So, basically, you guys are into being "Pro-Life" as long as you're in between a woman and her doctor, but "Pro-Death" if it means you can IMAGINE that no universal healthcare is better. None of you know anyone with NHS in England. Not ONE. Or you'd shut yer pie holes. Why am I writing this? No one reads this site! I found it after six pages of looking for something else, and didn't even mean to click it. I do NOT know how you all sleep at night.

Conservatives will keep losing elections
You know that seething anger that took your party out of commission in 2006, AND 2008? The dwindling neo-cons all gussied up in their Sunday best? You're gonna hear the same roar come ripping through in 2012. Libs may be tiffed at their leader right now, but they HAVE a leader that isn't some blow-hard radio host and they sure aren't going to your party. Obama happens to be a scholar. How crazy, the difference between the two! I can't believe someone so entrenched in nepotism (you David "Limbaugh", ha ha ha!!) is against helping others out. You know, your brother certainly shared his wealth with you! Did you try and resist on "principle"?
And all of you who throw around the word "socialism"...try this on for size. Take your kids out of public schools (most of you already have to teach them that Adam and Eve rode dinosaurs and literally wore leaves on their crotches, but for the remaining few, get 'em out), put your house fire out with a hose if it ever catches alight...because the fire department is socialism. Do NOT file for unemployment, like Rush did. It's socialism. Take grandma OFF Medicaid, because it's more honest if you pay for her nursing home...your fellow compassionate conservatives don't want to foot the bill and oh yeah, stop calling yourselves Christians until you can find the part in the bible that shows where Jesus discriminated in healing ANYone. Take care hypocrites. Go to Texas. I hear they want to Secede. And GOOD LUCK to 'em. Take Alaska and Arizona with you!
