Klobuchar Releases List of Executive Actions She'd Take During Her First 100 Days as President

On Tuesday Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) tweeted a list of 100 executive actions she would take in the first 100 days of her presidency.

“In my first 100 days as president I will enact an ambitious, optimistic agenda to improve our health care, combat climate change, pursue economic justice and shared prosperity, and build a stronger democracy and safer world,” she wrote. “With these concrete steps, we will put our country back on a path of progress where people have an opportunity to get ahead.”

Among the actions Klobuchar would pursue are reentering the United States in the Paris Climate Accords, raising the federal minimum wage to $15, removing the citizenship question from the 2020 census, ending the family separation policy at the border, lifting the ban on transgender people from serving in the military, ensuring funding for Planned Parenthood, ending the Trump Administration's travel ban, establishing universal healthcare coverage, and protecting Dreamers--teenagers who were brought with their parents illegally into the country--under the Obama Administration's DACA.

Klobuchar wrote that a new president cannot wait for Congress to reverse President Trump's policy actions. 

“After four years of Donald Trump, a new president can’t wait for a bunch of congressional hearings to act,” Klobuchar said. “The urgent problems our country is facing require immediate action.”

Klobuchar's comments come just eight days before Democratic presidential hopefuls will take to the debate stage in Florida
