As leftists warn that Jimmy Buffett's song "Cheeseburger in Paradise" will quickly become "Cheeseburger in Hell" if the world does not stop global warming, er -- climate change, er extreme weather, whatever it's called these days -- one London university is taking matters into its own hands by banning all beef products from campus.

The Hill reports that "Goldsmiths University in London announced Monday that it would be banning all beef products on campus in an effort to fight climate change and become carbon neutral by 2025. "

Likewise, students will see increased water bottle prices when they arrive on campus in September.

"Declaring a climate emergency cannot be empty words. I truly believe we face a defining moment in global history and Goldsmiths now stands shoulder to shoulder with other organisations willing to call the alarm and take urgent action to cut carbon use,” university warden Frances Corner told the Hill.

One expert says that, "A vegan diet is probably the single biggest way to reduce your impact on planet Earth, not just greenhouse gases, but global acidification, eutrophication, land use and water use."

"It is far bigger than cutting down on your flights or buying an electric car," the expert added.

In America, New York City is enacting a similar measure. Starting this fall, all schools will have "Meatless Mondays." This means that public schools will serve only vegetarian options on Mondays.

2020 Democratic presidential candidate Bill de Blasio defended the plan, saying, "Cutting back on meat a little will improve New Yorkers' health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions."

"We're expanding Meatless Mondays to all public schools to keep our lunch and planet green for generations to come," he added.

At CPAC 2019, Salem radio host and former presidential advisor Sebastian Gorka was derided by critics for warning that the far-left wants to "take away your hamburgers." It looks like the Good Doctor was right.
