Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's office announced that her staff will be experiencing quite the shakeup as both her chief of staff and director of communications will be leaving her capitol hill office for other jobs.

Saikat Chakrabarti, who recently caused quite the political flare-up within the Democratic Party a few weeks ago by accusing certain members of the party of more or less being racist, will be parting ways with AOC altogether to join the environmental nonprofit New Consensus. A primary goal of New Consensus is the advancement of the Green New Deal. The GND is a massive overhaul of the economy towards socialism under the guise of fighting climate change, something Chakrabarti admitted himself just a few weeks ago.

Corbin Trent, the man in charge of the congresswoman's communications team, will still be staying alongside the New York democratic socialist but as a member of her re-election campaign team.

Saikat has decided to leave the office of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez to work with New Consensus to further develop plans for a Green New Deal,” Trent told The Intercept. “We are extraordinarily grateful for his service to advance a bold agenda and improve the lives of the people in NY-14. From his co-founding of Justice Democrats to his work on the Ocasio-Cortez campaign and in the official office, Saikat’s goal has always been to do whatever he can to help the larger progressive movement, and we look forward to continuing working with him to do just that.”

While AOC's camp claims these changes were decided long ago, the upheaval comes just days after she met one-on-one in Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office to settle differences.
