A previously deported illegal alien has been arrested in Phoenix, Ariz. on suspected murder charges, after witnesses say the 26-year-old man chased his victim through a parking lot before standing over his target and firing four shots into his head.

According to ABC 15 Arizona, Victor Garcia allegedly chased Jesus Velazquez on Friday June 7th for reasons unknown. After Velazquez fell to the ground, Garcia then walked over to the man and stood above him while shooting his firearm right at his head.  According to Phoenix police the incident occurred at around 3:15 pm in the afternoon but the Garcia escaped via a pick up truck before authorities could apprehend him at the scene. The 34-year-old Velazquez was then transferred to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The truck in which the illegal alien fled the crime scene was found 20 minutes later in a nearby neighborhood. The driver of the vehicle told authorities that Garcia "never talked about what happened, why it happened or who the victim was.” Garcia was then found the next morning in Tolleson, Arizona.

Court records show the suspect was "convicted for armed robbery as a juvenile and was previously deported." He is currently being held on first degree murder charges and $100,000 bond.

Garcia's arrests comes as nearby city Tucson, Ariz. has dealt with increasing numbers of illegal aliens being dumped into their jurisdiction. In April the Arizona Republic reported that, "Pima County officials estimate that ICE has released about 7,000 migrants in Tucson in the past eight months." The result has led to an overflow of shelters meant to house illegal aliens as they wait for court appearances to determine status and other immigration matters.
