Failed-presidential candidate and supposed conservative John Kasich tweeted Friday evening that he is "keeping all options on the table" in terms of a primary challenge against incumbent Republican President Donald J. Trump.
"Appreciate all the encouragement to challenge @realDonaldTrump in 2020," the former Ohio Gov. tweeted.
"Know that while the path looks tough, all of my options are on the table. Like all of you, I want our country to be united, forward looking and problem solving. #2020," he added.

Kasich's tweet comes after seemingly giving up the idea entirely while being interviewed by CNN Friday afternoon. As Breitbart reported, Kasich told CNN that "there is no path right now for me. I don’t see a way to get there,” in regards to beating President Trump. “Ninety percent of the Republican Party supports him,” Kasich added. “It may be a shrinking Republican Party, but nevertheless. Maybe somebody wants to run and make a statement and that’s fine, but I’ve never gotten involved in a political race where I didn’t think I could win.”
It has long been rumored that Kasich would challenge President Trump in 2020 despite it being unclear who would support the former governor.
President Trump's team has consistently painted Kasich as a member of the establishment. Last year, President Trump's 2020 campaign manager slammed the moderate Republican for his Democrat-lite policies as well as his hobnobbing with DC's political class.

Currently, only former Massachusetts Gov Bill Weld has expressed a primary challenge against President Trump.
