The Congresswoman from New York then announced that she launched a progressive campaign arm to challenge establishment Democrats. The group, named “Courage to Change,” seeks to seat a “progressive majority” in Congress that will favor radical policies such as Medicare for All and the Green New Deal.

This effort is a clear attempt to undermine Democratic establishment leadership such as Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. AOC and her allies constantly criticize the old-guard Democratic leadership for not fully embracing the far-left policies pushed by progressives.
