According to Politico 44, Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden landed in Baghdad today to spend the 4th of July weekend with U.S. troops stationed in Iraq.

According to Politico's Mike Allen, Biden will "assess conditions ahead of President Barack Obama's planned Aug. 31 end to 'our combat mission in Iraq.' Biden's office said he will 'reaffirm the U.S. long-term commitment to Iraq.'"
