Rep. Mike Pence: We Can Win This

The GOP is struggling to put the brakes on Obamacare on Capitol Hill.  This afternoon, Republicans forced an up-or-down vote on the use of the "deem and pass" rule (or 'demon pass' as some have affectionately termed it) Slaughter rule to pass Obamacare.

The House endorsed the Slaughter rule by a vote of 223-203 today, a vote that included a surprising number of vulnerable Dems voting in support.

The House is clearly just bursting at the seams with that new, Obama-ushered sense of bipartisanship he promised.

To top it off, Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., gave a great speech on the floor of the House this morning, warning Democrats that while Republicans may be a minority in Congress, the majority of Americans stand with them in opposing Obamacare:

“Let’s have the debate. A minority in Congress plus the American people equals a majority. America, we can win this fight.”

While Republicans like Mike Pence are doing their part, Louisiana Rep. Joseph Cao was spotted at the White House today, meeting with President Obama.  As many of us remember, Cao was the only Republican member to vote for House's health care bill last fall.  It makes me pretty nervous that he's getting chummy with the president while so much is on the line...
