Rep. Lautenberg Diagnosed with Stomach Cancer

Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-NJ, was taken to the hospital yesterday after falling at his Cliffside Park, N.J., home.  He was treated for a stomach ulcer and was diagnosed with stomach lymphoma.  According to the

Washington Post, Lautenberg will undergo six to eight chemotherapy treatments.

Sen. Lautenberg's doctor reported that the senator plans to return to work between treatments and should make a "full and complete recovery."

If for any reason Lautenberg chooses not to complete his term in the Senate--which ends in 2014--this may mark another potential pick-up for the GOP.
