Another Chicago Politician Found Dead

The body of Chicago Board of Education President Michael Scott was found this morning in the Chicago River; initial police reports say the gunshot wound to his head was self-inflicted, but the Cook County medical examiner's office says its still completing tests.

Scott was a long-time friend of Mayor Richard Daley and had been appointed by the mayor to head up the city's education board.  Scott was also a member of Daley's Chicago Olympic bid committee and was heavily scrutinized earlier this year about "Olympics-related real estate dealings" his real estate company stood to make millions from.

Scott is the third prominent Chicago political official to have committed suicide in the past two years alone.  Comments on local Chicago news stories covering Scott's death are speculating his death may not have been suicide, but only test results from the medical examiner's office may prove otherwise...
