Mackey's Wall Street Journal op-ed described how his company's health care plan covers 90% of Whole Foods employees, costs less than most health insurance plans and provides a "very high degree of worker satisfaction." For his outspoken opposition to current health care plans being considered in Congress, left-wing activists protested outside Whole Foods stores and called for a boycott of the company, claiming that Mackey's solutions were not good for his employees.
