And With That Decision, Maybe We Know Why Elijah Cummings' Baltimore District Is A Nightmare

President Donald Trump and Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) were the focal points of a social media duel, where the president trashed the Maryland Democrat for presiding over a city that’s totally in a state of disrepair. Cummings’ district encompasses a portion of the city, which Trump described as rat-infested, crime-ridden, and not hospitable. Of course, whatever Trump says has to be attacked—even when it’s true. The racism allegation was lobbed again. It fell flat with those with cognitive function…again. Normal people don’t care—and those who are curious will find out that the city is a mess. The residents agreed with Trump’s description. There are rats everywhere. Homicides are sky-high. And even former Mayor Catherine Pugh, who resigned in disgrace, noted the rats and how parts of the city are just utterly deplorable.

The Trump administration has allocated some $16 billion to the city in federal grants. What’s going on? And that was exactly the reaction Lynne Patton, a regional Housing and Urban Development administrator, had when all these Democrats and their liberal media allies rallied to the defense of this trash can of a city. So, after all that, after all the hollering, and after the defense of his city, which will go away in the next news cycle because the anti-Trump media really doesn’t care about Baltimore or the well-being of its residents—Cummings decided to ditch a tour of a HUD facility (via Daily Caller):

Maryland Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings declined an offer to tour a Baltimore Housing and Urban Development (HUD) facility with HUD secretary Ben Carson on Wednesday.

Carson invited Cummings to tour the facility with him on Tuesday, however Cummings rejected the invitation, the Daily Caller has learned.

The Daily Caller reported exclusively on Tuesday that Carson would visit Baltimore in the wake of President Donald Trump’s tweets calling the city a “rodent infested mess” in which no human being would want to live. Critics accused the president of employing racist attacks against the Maryland city and against Rep. Cummings.

I can see why the city, or at least that portion, is the way it is; its representatives don’t seem to care. Too busy working on Trump’s impeachment, right? Oh, and Cummings also trashed Baltimore too. Is he a racist now?
