Well, it was another weekend of President Trump attacking Democrats. What else is new? Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) was in the crosshairs. He, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her crew, are key or highly visible Democrats. As chair of the House Oversight Committee, Cummings is a prime target for attack. Trump attacked Cummings for representing a district that is more or less straight trash. The Maryland Democrat represents a large swath of Baltimore.
“Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there,” Trump tweeted over the weekend.
“Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the worst in the USA,” he added.
“As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent-infested mess.”

Oh, you Democrats were outraged over these remarks. Just outraged, even though they’re 100 percent true (via The Hill):
President Trump's critics on Sunday called his attacks on House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) racist while the president's allies defended him and Trump himself doubled down on his remarks.

Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said the tweets, in which Trump called Cummings' majority-black district a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess” where “no human being would want to live,” had “absolutely zero to do with race.”
When Fox News's Chris Wallace pressed Mulvaney on "Fox News Sunday," Mulvaney insisted Trump’s tweets were simply his response to Cummings's forceful questioning of acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan over conditions in migrant detention facilities and that the president would say the same about a white lawmaker in a similar situation.

Democrats appearing on the Sunday shows uniformly condemned the tweets, with House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) also blasting Trump for implying money intended for Cummings’s district was being stolen.
"The president is, as he usually is or often is, disgusting and racist. He makes these charges with no base at all,” Nadler said on ABC’s “This Week,” saying a second resolution condemning the tweets “wouldn’t be a bad idea.”
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” called Cummings one of the most “decent” members of Congress and added, “It's unbelievable that we have a president of the United States who attacks American cities, who attacks Americans, who attacks somebody who is a friend of mine.”
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich,) one of the first two Muslim women in Congress and one of the targets of Trump’s earlier tweets, also defended Cummings on Sunday.
"He continues to say things about American cities all across this country. Our president has a hate agenda. He doesn’t have a policy agenda," Tlaib said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union.”
And here comes the Democrats’ piping hot cup of shut the hell up. All this stuff was pretty much said last year by then-Mayor Catherine Pugh (via Baltimore Sun):

Video footage of Mayor Catherine Pugh touring an East Baltimore neighborhood has gone viral after she is heard making some indelicate remarks.
The segment, which looks back on the mayor’s violence-reduction initiative rolled out last year, was filmed last week and aired this week on Fox 45.
In the footage, Pugh tours an area of vacant houses with city leaders and says: “What the hell? We should just take all this [expletive] down.”
Whoa, you can smell the rats.”
“Whew, Jesus.”
“Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals.”
Yes, we almost forgot the paradise that is Baltimore, the gem of the eastern seaboard. Democrats seem to forget, or probably just ignore, that they’ve run their cities into the ground. On the Left Coast, cities have become dumping grounds for the homeless, needles, and feces. Yep, these folks just take craps all over the place, shoot up drugs all over the place, and the Democrats just let it happen. And to Nadler the Hutt, yes, we have evidence that Baltimore is straight trash. Sorry if you missed it. Only a moron could.
