House Democrats Rush To End The Slugfest Between Pelosi And Ocasio-Cortez's Leninist Girl Scout Troop

It cannot be undone. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has embraced the left-wing whacko slice of her party that is the Leninist Girl Scout Troop. Scout leader Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), along with Reps. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) has made life for the speaker a living nightmare. For weeks, the speaker had tried to cast these four horsewomen of the apocalypse as outliers and certainly not the face of the party; that all imploded last weekend. President Trump shot off a series of tweets that, shocker, many viewed as racist. In short, the president said that these women were anti-American and that they should go back to their crime-ridden communities from whence they came, come back, and tell us how it's done. The media summed this up as the “go back home” tweets. Almost immediately, the House Democratic leadership defended AOC and her cohort of neo-Marxists, which angered scores of Democrats.

These women have peddled anti-Semitic talking points, accused the Border Patrol of erecting Nazi-like concentration camps on the southern border, and yes, they’re becoming the face of the party. In a poll of voters in House swing districts, not only are these women viewed miserably, but their agenda is viewed as trash as well. Say goodbye to the Democratic House majority if these shenanigans keep up, which is what some on the Hill are trying to stop. Pelosi and AOC are expected to meet this Thursday, July 25. Both camps have even started to delete tweets aimed at one another or at least one side is in a demonstration of good faith (via WaPo):

…[D]etente is expected … with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) tentatively scheduled to meet Thursday with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) — the most prominent member of the four-member “Squad” of liberal freshman female lawmakers.

A House Democratic aide, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe the makings of the truce, called it a “collective de-escalation” — one taking place at the end of a week that saw President Trump’s attacks on Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ocasio-Cortez unite Democrats behind a House resolution condemning his racist remarks.

The leaders of the House Democratic Caucus and three ideological subcaucuses — the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the New Democrat Coalition and the Blue Dog Coalition — issued a joint statement Thursday calling their united ranks a “diverse, robust and passionate family” that is “dedicated to making life better for everyday Americans.”

“At times, there may be different perspectives on the way forward. That is a hallmark of the legislative process,” the statement continued. “We will remain clear-eyed with respect to our unity of purpose. Every single voice within the House Democratic Caucus is an important one. We have a shared mission. Onward and upward.”

Among the deleted tweets was an attack by Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.), a CPC co-chair and signer of the statement, on the centrist Problem Solvers Caucus, which worked last month to favor passage of a bipartisan Senate-written border security bill over a House alternative.

[…]

According to the aide, the five Democratic leaders — Jeffries, Pocan, fellow CPC co-chair Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), New Democrats chair Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-Wash.) and Blue Dog chair Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-Fla.) — agreed over the course of several conversations this week to “issue a reset” and present a united front against Trump and Republicans. The deletions of the tweets, the aide said, were a gesture of goodwill to begin that effort.

Yeah, this isn’t going to last, folks. The House Democratic leadership and the Leninist wing have two separate agendas and two VERY different ways in going about promoting them. The former values regular order and business as usual. Yes, it’ more pragmatic, whereas AOC and her crew proceed to pour gasoline all over the room and set it on fire when they don’t get what they want. Their minions accused members of their own party of acting like racist southern Democrats concerning the border package, which was passed with the help of Pelosi and moderate House Democrats. It was the Senate’s bipartisan package, which did not rein in federal law enforcement agencies like the House bill, which was straight trash and one that Trump said he wouldn’t sign. The House bill prevented law enforcement from enforcing immigration protocols. Sorry, that’s a non-starter. And the overcrowding at the ICE facilities needed relief.

The bill passed and so began this war between Pelosi and AOC. Now, the latter says there is no catfight going on, though it’s obvious the two women do not like each other. They haven’t spoken to one another in months. AOC even lobbed accusations of racism at Pelosi for mocking and targeting their little caucus. Even some in the media have blamed the House Democratic leadership for paving the way for the “send her back” chant that erupted during Trump’s North Carolina rally last week. How many Democratic splits could there be in a month? There will be something that sets off another war between these two again. There has to be. AOC and her crew accused House Democrats supporting the border bill of wanting to put kids in cages…that Obama built. Oh, and AOC is open to challenging incumbent Democrats which is anther episode of agita for Democrats on the Hill. If there is a peace brokered on Thursday, it will be a very fragile one. These women are God’s gift to the GOP and with their ascending influence and rising profile, one of them will have to address the party’s convention next year. Can you say Nancy you have to do it now? Can you also say Trump 2020?
