I mean it shouldn’t shock us, but for those who are opposed to this nonsense, and there are probably quite a few in California, it’s just another sign that this progressive cesspool only becomes more filthy with the latest $215 billion budget. It’s been signed into law. Nothing we can do now. The California Republican Party is all but dead and virtual single-party rule has allowed for this insanity to flourish unchecked. It’s part of the illegal alien lust that has driven California Democrats for years. Gov. Gavin Newsom signed off on the budget last week (via Fox News):
California’s new budget, signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom ... expands health care for illegal immigrants and includes a penalty for people who do not purchase health insurance.
The provisions were among several measures in the $214.8 billion operating budget that Newsom signed before the midnight deadline. It is the largest in the state's history, according to the Los Angeles Times.
California lawmakers were at odds over how far to go providing government-funded health care to illegal immigrants. Newsom last month proposed providing $98 million a year to cover low-income illegal immigrants between the ages of 19 and 25. A more extreme state Assembly’s bill proposed covering all illegal immigrants over the age of 19 living in California – a proposal that would cost an estimated $3.4 billion.
So, the Golden State is going to subsidize health care for people who have violated our immigration laws. These are people who shouldn’t be here. Yet, Democrats want them counted in the census to increase their congressional power on the Hill. They want them legalized. And they want them to vote Democratic en masse. What better way to accomplish that than by claiming to support them and promising them a bunch of welfare goodies? It’s very smart. And I say “claim to support” because based on reports from the border detention centers and the Trump White House’s call for funds to deal with the overcrowding, Democrats have resorted to calling it a manufactured crisis, when they know it’s not, and refusing to work with Trump on funds for basic needs. The Left wanted to use these people’s suffering as political ammunition. You can’t do that if these peoples’ conditions improve.
Democrats finally caved, begrudgingly signing onto on a Senate GOP bill that gave $4.6 billion to deal with this crisis. It infuriated the far left, who wanted to rein in Immigration and Customs Enforcement with their proposals. This wasn’t going to reach the president’s desk.
A huge part of the 2020 Democratic clown car wants to give illegal health care…because that’s the right move to win back blue-collar workers who flipped for Trump. Christmas has come early for the Trump campaign.
In the meantime, California opened the floodgates to illegals, declaring itself a sanctuary state. Oh, and their politics could turn it into the first third-world state in the country. We have possible bubonic plague roaming the streets. Rats and fleas have infested Los Angeles' city hall and even police stations are being docked for their unsanitary conditions.
