Well, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) said it best concerning the new Democratic House’s plan over the next two years: “impeach the motherf**ker.” She was, of course, speaking about President Donald Trump.
The far left wing of the Democratic Party wants this above all else. House Democrats retook the lower chamber based on anti-Trump sentiment; voters want these folks to stop his agenda at all costs, even things that aren’t remotely controversial. Bills to give out free lunch to low-income students, just using this as an example, would be voted down by Democrats. It’s that bad.
So, will the new freshman impeach Trump? The clamoring for it has been heard for over a year. So far, the newly elected Democratic House members aren’t really for it, but there’s a catch (via Axios) [emphasis mine]:
Over the last two weeks, Axios reached out to every single one of the 64 new House Democrats, and only a tiny fraction said they were on board with impeachment.
The big picture: There's been a cable news feeding frenzy over the "I" word, fueled in part by freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib's bleep-worthy call for ousting the president. But the reality is that the vast majority of new House Democrats are right in line with their caucus' leadership; they're uninterested in discussing impeachment before special counsel Robert Mueller finishes his work.
Instead, they emphasized aggressive Democratic oversight, including opening investigations into the president, his campaign and his administration.
By the numbers: Of the 64 new House Democrats:
48 believe Congress should wait for the Mueller report's release before considering impeachment.
7 go a little further, saying that language is "not helpful."
6 support impeaching the president.
3 have not made clear, on-record statements.

Okay, so they don’t want to impeach Trump…yet. The report from Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is heading the DOJ’s investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin in 2016, isn’t going to be the bombshell Democrats had hoped. If there were solid evidence of collusion between Trump and Moscow, we would have heard about it by now. There isn’t. It’s a diversion.
The Mueller Report probably won’t have anything explosive, but it’s the hearings that should worry Republicans. These aren’t oversight hearings. They’re impeachment hearings, all conducted with the end goal of piecing together something to boot Trump from the Oval Office. There will be hearing after hearing. They might hold a hearing about whether he was mean in school. The oversight, or impeachment, hearings are where the Democrats are going to hurl straight trash into the news cycle to get the sabers rattling for impeachment. And their allies in the media will do their bidding for the most part.
So, whenever Democrats say they’re not on board with impeachment or whatnot, it’s total garbage. They’re just waiting to see if Trump failed to pay a parking ticket in order for them to pounce. They’re waiting in the tall grass. They don’t want to impeach Trump…yet.
