So, when you fail to win, and you think that conservative wins constitute an assault on what you think America should be, you engage in peddling ideas that would do exactly that—destroy the fabric of America. That’s the irony of liberalism. It sets out to sell the idea that America is terrible and in doing so, makes America terrible.
From Halloween costumes to coffee (where it comes from), liberals are always there to remind you that everything is racist, patriarchal, capitalist (that’s a good thing, by the way), or politically incorrect. I don’t care. I was a Confederate soldier for Halloween. I like coffee that’s not fair trade. It’s cheaper. I’m part of ‘this is America, b**ch and I don’t care’ caucus. What I do care about is when liberals lose and throw a tantrum; they push ideas that could produce constitutional crises—like court packing because they didn’t win an election. Porn lawyer Michael Avenatti suggested we should after he blew it for Democrats in their fight against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh fight (via WaPo):

Court-packing has come up occasionally throughout the years as a workaround for one side or the other to wage something of a hostile takeover of the court. Rather than waiting for the right justices to retire or die when the right president is in office, the theory goes, a party can just expand the court enough to install the requisite justices and tip the scales to its side. Enacting term limits for justices would require a constitutional amendment and take years to pan out; packing the court is quicker and requires only a regular old act of Congress.
For obvious reasons, the idea has gained some new currency with liberals, for whom it could help in taking a 5-4 conservative court and flipping it to a 6-5 liberal one. Michael Avenatti has said it should be a litmus-test issue for any 2020 Democratic presidential candidate.
The idea hasn’t yet caught on with Democratic leaders. But there are reasons to believe they might one day entertain it.
Court-packing hasn’t been seriously attempted since 1937, when Franklin D. Roosevelt pushed to expand the anti-New Deal court by as many as six justices to turn it into a pro-New Deal court. The effort went nowhere, but scholars generally say it had the beneficial effect of pushing the existing court in a more pro-New Deal direction.
Avenatti represented Julie Swetnick, who alleges that Kavanaugh was part of a gang rape ring in high school. It was outrageous. There was no evidence and no corroborating witnesses. The allegation, like all of them, is baseless, but Swetnick’s is especially shoddy. Swetnick, who was already college-aged, hung around with high schoolers, went to their parties, saw all of this debauchery, didn’t warn or tell anyone, and then went back nine more times to these gatherings. Oh, and she was never assaulted by Kavanaugh. It was crap, and part of the well coordinated character assassination plot against Kavanaugh that ultimately failed. He was confirmed last weekend.
Packing the court isn’t going to happen. It died with FDR, and it should stay that way. Also, for a side that peddled that nauseating talking point that the judicial process shouldn’t be political, this is a sure fire way to politicize it even more. So, go a try Democrats, but don’t crying when you get a face full of buckshot.
