Well, the Russian collusion clown show has taken another wild turn. The Senate Intelligence Committee wants the Jill Stein presidential campaign to turn over documents to see if the Green Party candidate was indeed an agent of Russia. Buzzfeed reported on this yesterday. Granted, this has nothing to do with President Trump, though Democrats are overjoyed. It’s no secret that large swaths of the urban professional elite think Stein cost Hillary Clinton the 2016 election. In actual fact, some Democrats just stayed home, like in Wayne County (i.e. Detroit Michigan), where tens of thousands of base voters simply did not turn out in numbers in this key county four years ago. If they had, Clinton would have won Michigan, but let’s circle back to this Russia business. Stein has not committed a crime. She hasn’t been charged, but for some in Democratic circles, judgment has already been rendered: she’s guilty. Of what, we shall find out in cesspool of American progressivism (via Buzzfeed):
Absurd targeting of Jill Stein once again shows that a central aim of the "Russia investigation" has always been to constrict the range of what is seen as acceptable political opinion: classic dissent-stifling tactic

If you somehow needed more evidence that this was never solely about a simple fact-finding mission to determine whether Trump criminally "colluded" -- here you go

Dems cheering this even though it has *exactly nothing* to do with whether Trump committed a crime demonstrate that they view the Russia Investigation primarily as a vehicle to punish political enemies https://t.co/tAVHpU5xel

Click on "Jill Stein" that's trending & you'll see countless leading Dems - with large platforms - strongly implying if not outright stating she's a Kremlin agent: all because of a Congressional inquiry. They couldn't better replicate McCarthyism if they tried. https://t.co/HOWU16bS6O

The top congressional committee investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election has set its sights on the Green Party and its nominee, Jill Stein.
Dennis Trainor Jr., who worked for the Stein campaign from January to August of 2015, says Stein contacted him on Friday saying the Senate Intelligence Committee had requested that the campaign comply with a document search.
Trainor, who served as the campaign’s communications director and acting manager during that time, told BuzzFeed News that he was informed of the committee’s request because during his time on the campaign, his personal cell phone was “a primary point of contact” for those looking to reach Stein or the campaign. That included producers from RT News, the Russian state-funded media company, who booked Stein for several appearances, Trainor said.
“Then I was told by Jill just to wait for further instructions,” Trainor said, adding that he was told the campaign would contact him in the next week with instructions, presumably from the Senate Intelligence Committee, for executing the document search, including precise search terms. That has not happened yet, Trainor said.
When asked Monday what the committee was looking for from the Stein campaign, North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr, the committee’s chairman, responded, "collusion with the Russians." Burr said that the committee is "just starting" its work investigating two campaigns, but did not elaborate.
Stein did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Some progressive writers even called this reaction from their fellow left wingers jumping for glee nothing more than neo-McCarthyism. As with Mr. Trump, there is zero evidence that his campaign officials colluded with the Russians during the 2016 election. We’re once again seeing the Democrats being unable to move on from that loss. Stein led a recall attempt in the Rust Belt as well, noting that the voting machines in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Wisconsin might have been compromised. That was not the case, though Stein raised millions more for this shoddy recall strategy than for her entire 2016 campaign.
Still, while this effort made after Trump had won the 2016 election was insanely annoying, there is zero evidence that the Green Party colluded with the Russians. Democrats finally see a way to deliver revenge against what they see as their 2016 spoiler. Do what you want guys, but Hillary was just terrible. Period.
Congress asks for docs to see if there's connection between Jill Stein's campaign & Russia. There's zero evidence there is. Yet the mere Congressional inquiry has instantly prompted declarations of guilt & treason like this. Just please don't call the climate McCarthyite: pic.twitter.com/X4aur2xu0p
