CNN on Barcelona Terror Attack: People Will Ask If This Was a Copycat Version of Charlottesville

Well, it seems the news media has forgotten that radical Islamic terrorism has been at war with America for decades. In the aftermath of the tragic and brutal terror attack in Barcelona today, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and Jim Sciutto were commenting how this could be a copycat assault based on the violence that erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend. And by people, I hope CNN was referring to themselves and their clueless allies in the liberal media. CNSNews clipped this hot take:

“There will be questions about copycats, there will be questions if what happened in Barcelona was at all, at all a copycat version of what happened in Charlottesville, Virginia even though there may be different characters, different political ambitions,” said Wolf Blitzer.

Europe has been at the receiving end of terror attacks for months. This would be the eighth such attack to strike Europe alone. It’s also the deadliest terror attack to hit Spain since the 2004 Madrid train bombings, which were erroneously blamed on the Basque separatists group ETA before al-Qaeda was declared the culprit. Thirteen people were killed, with an additional 80 injured when vans plowed through a crowd on the La Rambla street in the city.

Cortney wrote about the attack, where one suspect, 28-year-old Moroccan citizen Driss Oukabir, has been identified. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Terror attacks using vehicles have been used for years; so to say that this might be a copycat attack is just absurd. In Charlottesville, a white nationalist ran into a crowd of counter protesters, killing one and injuring 19 others. White nationalist groups descended into the city to protest the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue, which erupted in violence when far left protesters held their own rally. Both incidents are terrible, but Barcelona being a copycat attack? Let’s get it together, folks. No.
