Early Voting Impact

I wonder about the impact it might have had on last night's election.  Even if it didn't make a significant difference in the presidential race (this time), I wonder about down-ballot races...

At the very least, the popularity of this phenomenon certainly changes the results becuase it allows more time to corrall low-propensity voters.

... Regardless of whom it helps, it is clear that early voting requires candidates to spend more money.  For one thing, TV ads have to begin earlier (you certainly cannot wait to begin running ads until two or three weeks before Election Day).
