If you watch CMT or GAC (clearly, the lesser of the two country channels), you have no doubt seen this Bucky Covington video. And if you are a Gen Xer, like country music, and can get past the way this dude looks -- the odds are you like this song. A lot.

Country music is a pretty good medium for nostalgia, and lately more and more singers who came of age during the 70s and 80s are singing about it -- but this song seems to especially ring true. For one thing, other nostalgic songs focus on positive things about the 70s and 80s. This song talks about the good (Pledge of Allegiance at school), the bad (lead paint in cribs), and the ugly (only 3 TV channels!). It was truly a different world!
