Obama is invoking the image of Lincoln? I thought he was JFK ... or RFK?
In any event, for the same reason that Anna Nicole modeled her looks on Marilyn Monroe, and for the same reason that Hollywood constantly tries to recycle old TV shows and turn them into movies (think the Dukes of Hazard), it has become fashionable for modern political candidates to emulate past political icons and attempt to "borrow" a bit of their mojo.
For example, Pelosi's "first 100 hours" was a weak attempt to copy FDR's "first 100 days."
So this makes me wonder; If Obama is Lincoln -- and I'm pretty sure George W. Bush is now Truman (or was it Wilson?) -- who are the other presidential candidates trying to be?
For example, does Hillary want to be Lady Thatcher (remember, I'm talking about image here -- not ideology)?
