Dems Exclude American Samoa ... Again?

A source on The Hill has informed me that the Reid Amendment was just placed -- and the Dems still haven't included American Samoa in the minimum wage bill. While it included the Mariana Islands, there was no mention of American Samoa.

As was reported last week, American Samoa’s largest employer operates out of Pelosi’s San Francisco district.  For this reason, Pelosi was forced to promise to "make sure that all of the territories have to comply with the U.S. law on minimum wage."

My contact points out that, "American Samoa Delegate (and Democrat) Eni Faleomavaega has argued that raising the minimum wage 'would devastate the local tuna industry'."

It's nice to know that at least one Democrat acknowledges that minimum wage affects jobs ...

In any regard, I am surprised that the Dems would make this move.  I'm sure this isn't the last we will hear about the issue ...
