HamNation: Washington's Newest Memorial

Townhall's new video section has my most recent HamNation up, now. I thought it would go up Friday, but it didn't due to technological complications that are beyond my particular expertise.

There wasn't a lot of MSM coverage of this, if any, so I covered the dedication of the Victims of Communism Memorial. There's no me in this video because, frankly, the actual victims of communism say it better than I. Hear their stories, here.

The scrolling text on the front end of the video is hard to read because of the low resolution, which I hope we can get fixed. This is what it says:

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation has worked for almost 20 years to raise Congressional support and $1 million in private funds for a monument to those who suffered under communist regimes.

"We have tried to focus a public spotlight on the crimes and victims of communism so that the world will never forget and never again allow so evil a tyranny to terrorize the world," said Foundation Chairman Lee Edwards.

The "Goddess of Democracy" is a bronze replica of a statue raised by Chinese students in 1989 and toppled by Chinese tanks in Tiananmen Square.

It was dedicated June 12, 2007 in Washington, D.C.
You can support the memorial, here.
