Yes, what he said was obnoxious and offensive, but frankly, the histrionics on display from everyone-- including the Rutgers basketball team's strong, independent women acting as if they were brutally assaulted and "scarred for life"-- is getting out of hand. The level of public indignation and self-righteous hysteria clearly exceeds the intensity of the offense.
Now, with Imus saying Sharpton should apologize for his treatment of the Duke lacrosse players, we're veering into Rosie vs. Donald territory. This is never going to end, folks.
