HamNation: Responding to the Democratic Response

My HamNation producer was busy this week, so Townhall intern Katie Favazza and I cut loose with my digital camera and the editing software I found on my computer. I have new-found respect for YouTubers.

We thought we'd respond to the Democratic response to Bush's speech until we realized we could just let Democrats do it for us-- the Democrats of 6 months to a year ago, that is.

Some of the quotes are a little long, so I apologize for that, but you'll get the gist.

Thanks to Ace for pointing out the new bubble toy. I tried to link these quotes in the video, but the software got a little wacky when I did that, so I'll link them here, in the order that they appear:

Here's the entire Durbin text. I did shorten it up a bit, so here's what I left out:

It's time for President Bush to face the reality of Iraq. And the reality is this: America has paid a heavy price. We have paid with the lives of more than 3,000 of our soldiers. We have paid with the sacrifice of our men and women in uniform. And we've paid with the hard-earned tax dollars of the families of America...

The government of Iraq must now prove that it will make the hard political decisions which will bring an end to this bloody civil war, disband the militias and death squads, create an environment of safety and opportunity for every Iraqi, and begin to restore the basics of electricity and water and health care that define the quality of life.

I'll get behind both of those sentiments.
