Duke to Offer Charged Lacrosse Players Reinstatement With 'Good Standing'

I'm guessing the University, which hasn't been known to take great risks on behalf of these young men in the past, is fairly certain the remaining charges will be dropped.

Two defendants in the Duke lacrosse case have been invited to return to Duke Univesity as students in good standing, according to one's mother and the other's attorney.

But Maryellen Finnerty told WRAL's Julia Lewis that her son, Collin Finnerty, 20, of Garden City, N.Y., has not decided whether he will immediately return to Duke.

I wonder why Finnerty would have doubts.

I hope to see these guys on the lacrosse field this spring, where they should have been all along.

My dad thinks this comes at the hand of Duke Minister of Information John Burness, who is clearly a bit more clever and fair than other members of the Duke faculty.

I think he has finally gotten the ivory-towered academic nitwits in charge to listen to him. Good going, John.

And, if you haven't yet taken the HamNation "Tour of Things That Didn't Happen in Durham," jump on in. Helps to remember how ludicrous this case and the folks pushing it really are.
