The Foley Scandal to Turn Into An Outing Campaign?

I just asked someone on IM just now what he thinks the over-under is on when "The List" hits the Left blogs.

I blogged about this earlier today:

And, the liberal blogosphere may be itching to go all "Michael Rogers" on the GOP. You know, because they love gay people and privacy above all, which requires that they start outing gay Republican staffers against their wishes for political advantage. Tolerance.

GayPatriot, who once stopped blogging due to a Michael Rogers campaign against him, responds to the David Corn post I linked above.

Read the whole thing:

No party has the power or right to tell me I am a full citizen. Supporting or opposing gay marriage does not make you a hypocrite. It makes you question the policy on its face. I am a full citizen thanks to the US Constitution.

Did it ever occur to Mr. Corn that the representatives and Senators he mentions that may or may not have gay staffers do not care about their sexual orientation yet value their participation as public servants? Is it not rational that you can hire a gay staffer, but at the same time oppose PUBLIC POLICY POSITIONS that you are morally or philosophically opposed to without being labeled a homophobe?

The Rogers shtick has always made me sick to my stomach, and I think it will do the same to many other voters. Turning the page scandal into an outing campaign would not only show utter disrespect for a segment of a community the Left purports to champion, but it would showcase the almost-Phelpsian P.R. style the Nutroots have become so famous for.

What was it Dean said? Never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity?

Update: Looks like Fordham, who resigned today, was a Rogers target, too. Via, Macsmind.

Update: Oooh, Ace, you funny.

Update: Masturgate!
