Promising Signs on Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig?

Still praying, folks.

Rusty thinks things look more optimistic, given developments late yesterday:

Good news: Olaf Wiig & Steve Centanni may, in fact, be held hostage by some disgruntled Fatah members who want backpay.

Bad news
: Hamas is working hard to make it look like they will be responsible for the hostages' release. When the hostages are free, Hamas will take credit.

Allah, as is his wont, is watching this.

Hamas' Interior Minister certainly isn't getting specific, and Fox is emphasizing that they don't know how much hope should be hung on his words:

The comments by Interior Minister Said Siyam of Hamas marked the first upbeat assessment by Palestinian officials since Fox correspondent Steve Centanni of Washington, D.C., and cameraman Olaf Wiig of New Zealand were seized from their TV van in Gaza City on Aug. 14.

"Efforts and contacts are being made to guarantee the safety and bring about the release of the two guests of Palestine," Siyam said outside a Gaza City mosque.

He said the contacts were made with major Palestinian militant groups, all of whom denied kidnapping the journalists or knowing where they were being held.

"There are first promising signs," he said, but did not elaborate. Earlier this week, Palestinian security officials said they had no leads.

Michelle Malkin notes how on the Left, and among the MSM, it's not exactly taboo to suggest that Fox kinda had it comin'.

We all know Fox News' ratings are higher than other cable networks, and that surely causes some consternation, but sentencing its employees to death by playa-hatin'? Trashy. It's truly testament to just how much control the Left has had over MSM in the past that one network that gives conservatives a say is so reviled. Faux News, right?
