Senate Passes Extended Stem-Cell Bill

Bush still expected to veto:

The Senate today approved legislation that would expand federal
funding of embryonic stem cell research, a measure President Bush has
vowed to veto as soon as it reaches his desk.

The veto, expected tomorrow, would be the first of Bush's 5 1/2-year presidency.
