McKinney Apologizes?

As a grand jury prepared to hear about her run-in with Capitol police last week, Drudge is reporting that Cynthia McKinney apologized to the House.

Now word on whether the apology was real or a Durbinized, "I'm sorry if you misconstrued my clocking of a police officer as disrespect for the uniform, you silly misconstruers."

UPDATE: The story is up now, and the apology sounds distinctly un-Durbinized. Well done, Cynthia. If this had come before the race-baiting, this would undoubtedly have been a one-news-cycle story and you would have done much less damage to your party's reputation on national security at exactly the time it was trying to bolster it.

Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga., expressed "sincere regret" Thursday for her altercation with a Capitol police officer, and offered an apology to the House.

"There should not have been any physical contact in this incident," McKinney said in brief remarks on the House floor. "I am sorry that this misunderstanding happened at all and I regret its escalation and I apologize."

Did she apologize for implying that the Capitol Police force is racist?
