There’s Been Another Update in the Saga About Transgenders Serving in the Military

This week, Townhall has covered how the Trump administration is working to remove transgender troops from the military.

In fact, one Republican lawmaker introduced legislation to codify this policy and make it permanent.

“They [the transgender service members] weren't fit for service, so they spent four or five years on the taxpayer's dime getting these surgeries and these chemicals and all this stuff, and then by the time they could really actually serve, they were ready to get out," Alabama Republican Rep. Barry Moore, who introduced the legislation, said in an interview with Fox News.

Now, another policy was implemented to ensure that transgender ideology does not permeate the military.

Going forward, the Department of Defense will begin screening troops for gender dysphoria in their annual physicals. This is according to a new memo obtained by The Hill:

The document, signed by the Pentagon’s acting head of personnel and readiness, orders senior officials to “immediately commence the identification of affected Service members” via the Defense Department’s Periodic Health Assessment.

“Commanders who are aware of service members in their units with gender dysphoria, a history of gender dysphoria or symptoms consistent with gender dysphoria will direct individualized medical record reviews of such service members to confirm compliance with medical standards,” the memo states, referring to the diagnosis of when someone does not identify with their biological sex.

Upon taking office in January, President Trump revoked a Biden-era order that allowed transgender members to serve in the military and issued an executive order declaring gender dysphoria “inconsistent” with the military’s mission of maintaining a fighting force ready to deploy, effectively banning transgender troops.

This is the latest move in the Trump administration’s efforts to crack down on “transgenders” serving in the United States military.

Last week, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said that about 1,000 transgender service members will begin the voluntary separation process.
