Earlier this month, President Joe Biden announced that he would not run against former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election. This came after many Democrats in congress and donors called on Biden to drop out of the race following his awful debate performance last month.
In a letter posted on X, Biden explained his decision.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” he stated.

The latest poll numbers show that 87 percent of registered voters approve of Biden’s decision to drop out. A mere 9 percent of voters disapproved of his decision.
