Earlier this year, Townhall reported how Wellesley College, an exclusive all-girls school, decided to allow its student body to vote on allowing transgender and non-binary students. Wellesley was founded in 1870 and was one of several schools that opened its doors to women.
Another historic school for women that prides itself on being “founded in 1861 to offer women a fully equivalent education to that of the best men’s colleges of the period“ is now at the center of a lawsuit filed by five professors who claim that there is a pay disparity between men and women.
Female professors at the woke Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York are reportedly suing the university for discrimination in pay between male and female educators.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the five professors, who teach African-American history, physics, and physiological science, argue that the pay disparities are present within departments (via WSJ):
During the 2021-2022 school year, male professors earned an average salary of $153,238 while female professors earned $139,322—or 10% less, according to the suit. The pay gap has ranged between 7.6% and 14.6% since 2003.

The suit alleges women are paid less when they are hired and then promoted at a slower pace based on an biased and subjective evaluation process for compensation and promotion. The process includes peer reviews and student reviews. The average merit rating for female professors is 2.24; for men it is 2.41.
A group of 35 female full professors and emeriti at Vassar signed a letter of support for the suit in which they said they share the grievances of the five named plaintiffs.
“The College has known for many years that it has unlawfully paid men more than women, but it has for years rejected our overtures and refused to address this discrimination in any meaningful or substantive way. We are therefore compelled to voice our disapproval,” the letter says.
Reportedly, the women filed the suit against the school in federal court in New York. They reportedly tried to work with the school for over a decade to address the pay disparity and are asking for back pay to 2015 for all women currently or formerly employed by the school as full professors.

Vassar was founded in 1861 as an all-women's college and costs around $80,000 a year to attend. Some of its alumni include former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy and actresses Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Lisa Kudrow.
“That makes this an especially troubling case, because you would think that a school that has such a storied history of advancing women’s equality and advancing female leadership would be at the forefront on gender pay equity,” Kelly Dermody, the attorney for the plaintiffs, told the outlet.
Nowadays, the school is co-ed and has been exposed many times for being "woke." A 2022 report from The College Fix claimed that the school retracted an article from it's student newspaper because it quoted too many white students. In 2013, Daily Mail reported that a "transgender" student was a culprit behind a series of offensive phrases in graffiti paint around campus. The transgender individual and others then reported the graffiti to the school as "bias incidents."
