Home Depot Co-founder to Democrats: 'Use Your Stupid Brains'

Bernie Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot, took Democrats to task over their criticism of tax reform, which is already helping middle class Americans.

"Democrats, use your stupid brains. You don't have any brains and don't understand what happens," he said Saturday on Fox News.

"This is not going to turn overnight. Corporations are not going to open 14 buildings overnight. Come on, give me a break, you've got to use your brains," he said referencing the improving economy.

According to analysis from the left-leaning Tax Policy Center, 80 percent of taxpayers will see a tax cut this year.

Employers, including Home Depot, have also announced bonuses, investment plans, and new benefits thanks to tax reform.

The home improvement retailer said last week all employees will receive bonuses ranging from $200 to $1,000 depending on how long they’ve been working for the company.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has slammed the tax reform savings middle class Americans will see as “crumbs.”

The “crumbs [corporate America] are giving to workers to put the schmooze on is so pathetic,” she during a press conference earlier this month.

Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz has made a similar argument.

“Frankly, if you look at the bonuses, which I haven’t heard of a corporate bonus more than $1,000 so far,” she said, “which by the way is taxed, so it’s not $1,000. And then you spread $1,000 over the course of the year — to think of about how much that is — of course they get it all at once. But I’m not sure that $1,000 goes very for almost anyone.”
