Conway: No, I Don't Have Any Evidence of Surveillance Claims

Kellyanne Conway clarified Monday that her recent comments about surveillance did not mean to suggest Trump Tower was monitored in “any number of ways.”

“I wasn’t making a suggestion about Trump Tower. Those are two separate things,” Conway told ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

“But that’s what you were asked about,” host George Stephanopoulos replied.

“And I answered him about surveilling generally,” Conway responded. “I have no evidence, but that’s why there’s an investigation in Congress. That’s particularly what investigations are for,” Conway added.

In an interview with Conway that was published by a New Jersey newspaper, the senior counselor seemed to suggest the surveillance of the Trump campaign could’ve been broader than the president initially claimed.

“What I can say is there are many ways to surveil each other,” Conway told The Record. “You can surveil someone through their phones, certainly through their television sets.”

But when pressed by Stephanopoulos about what she said, Conway replied, “No, of course I don’t have any evidence of those allegations and that answer has nothing to do with what the president said last week."
