Ouch: Poll Shows the More GOP Voters Get to Know Bush, The Less They Like Him

The obvious goal during an election cycle is to become more popular the longer you campaign, not less. Unfortunately, that’s what polling shows is happening to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush among Republican voters.

While Dr. Ben Carson, Sen. Marco Rubio, and Sen. Ted Cruz are all becoming more popular as voters get to know them, 58 percent of Republican voters said they like Jeb! less after hearing more about him; 32 percent said they liked him more.

Now compare that to his GOP challengers:

A new McClatchy-Marist poll conducted from Oct. 29 through Nov. 4 found that Carson has the most appeal as voters are more exposed to him, with 67 percent expressing that favorable view, and 20 percent saying they have a less favorable view the more they hear about the retired neurosurgeon. Rubio comes in second at 58 percent to 27 percent, followed by Cruz with 51 percent to 31 percent.

As many pundits have noted about Bush’s campaign, the question is no longer if he’ll drop out, but when.

It looks like it’s too late for Jeb to fix it.
