New Ad Questions Obama’s Relationship with Israel

It’s about time -- the Pro-Israel group Emergency Committee for Israel is putting out an ad questioning President Obama and the Democratic Party's commitment to the U.S.-Israel alliance. The spot begins by showing the Obama administration’s refusal to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The ad then transitions to the voice vote held at the DNC over re-inserting the omission of Jerusalem in the party platform. “Three times Obama Democrats voted against supporting Israel,” the ad states as it proceeds to show the chaos that erupted on the floor when votes were met with boisterous ‘nos’.

Is this still your Democratic party? … Or Obama’s?

Perhaps the next ad can feature Obama’s refusal to meet in person with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu because of a “full schedule,” which ironically, was not too full for Beyonce, Jay-Z and….Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.

According to The Washington Free Beacon, the ad will air Sunday in the swing state of Florida during the football game between the Miami Dolphins and the Oakland Raiders.

A recent Investor’s Business Daily/Christian Science Monitor/TIPP poll, which surveyed voters September 4-9 during the DNC, shows Jewish support for Obama at 59 percent -- that’s a 19 percentage point drop from his victory in 2008. The events we’ve seen all over the Middle East and North Africa this week (and today) show that we cannot afford to abandon our closest ally and friend in the Middle East by embracing anti-Israel policies. We need them just as much as they need us.
