MSNBC's Joe Scarborough Admits the 'Entire Mainstream Media' Is 'Reflexively Anti-Trump'

“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough admitted that “the entire mainstream media, we are reflexively anti-Trump on all things,” adding that “we’ve overstepped.” He and Mika Brzezinski discussed media coverage of Trump on former NBC star Katie Couric’s recent podcast released Thursday.

Brzezinski chimed in, agreeing with his assessment.

“We’re over our skis and it’s going to hurt us,” she said.

Scarborough’s assessment of the media’s coverage of Trump makes sense with a recent study showing that 90 percent of the top three media network’s coverage during September, October, and November was negative.

His admission is notable given the couple’s history of sparring with Trump, questioning his sanity on their show, and being the target of the President’s Twitter attacks.

“But secondly,” Scarborough said of the media, “we’re also in a very unusual position where we’re in the middle of a nuclear showdown…and we have a president who, Mika and I believe through knowing him, is not mentally stable, is less stable than he was a year and a half ago.”

Scarborough also admitted that he feels now he’s in a bit of a “bubble” ideologically and financially. He shared that he had family back home who voted for Trump.

President Trump has repeatedly criticized the "Morning Joe" co-hosts on Twitter over the past year, even questioning in November whether Scarborough should be fired. He referenced the death of Lori Klausutis, a 28-year-old office staffer who worked for Scarborough and was found dead in his office back when he was a representative from Florida. A medical examiner later ruled that it was the result of an accident.
