The Daily Show Takes On Journalism's "Civility" Fetish

The National Council of Editorial writers runs a "Civility Project." The NCEW is headed by Froma Harrop, a woman who called tea parties "like the al-Qaida bombers." The Daily show does a very good public service in calling her out:

Daily Show correspondant John Oliver's reaction is what we all have - this woman claims to want civility, yet defends her non-metaphorical judgment of tea partiers as terrorists.

In the wake of DNC head Debbie Wasserman-Schultz attempting to score political points on the one-year anniversary of the Giffords shooting, it's fun to see the Daily Show aping "progressive" journalists who want a double standard - civil language mandatory for conservatives, but not themselves!
